eReaders are the future!!!!!!
Why are e-readers so important? Because they are the future!
I can't imagine why students in the future, near future, would want to carry a huge backpack around, filled with text books when they can carry an e-reader and hundreds of text books and other books of interest. 500 pounds versus 1 or 2 pounds. No contest.
But that's just one use. I recently bought an e-reader. I was seriously considering a netbook computer, but I just couldn't get my mind around it. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't make the decision. That's not my normal style. Find it and buy it. I'm a gadget freak.
Anyway, I bought a Sony PRS 300 e-Reader (more on the Sony in a separate post) because something inside said this is better than a Netbook, at least for me.

In one day, I realized this is the future!
The e-Reader gives reading all kinds of "stuff" a new meaning. From newspapers to "How-to" books. From fiction to autobiographies and I've just scratched the surface. Wow, I discovered a whole new way of reading, and the advantages of eReaders are bountiful.
Sure, they help keep a greener earth because the books are digital not paper based, and eReaders store hundreds, even thousands of books, mauals, newspapers and white papers (think of the space saved), but they, the eReaders, are very (VERY) cost effective.
Sure, you have to buy one, but eReaders are getting less expensive everyday. I Paid just over CA$200 for my Sony (and that wasn't all that long ago. Now look, and I'll bet in a year you can get an eReader for under a hundred bucks. But that's it. No more high cost. eBooks, eNewspapers, eMagazines and the millions of PDF files that you read are mere pennies in cost. Instead of $39 for a hardcover book, you'll probably only spend $9. There are thousands upon thousands of eBooks for under $3 and many thousands more available free.
In fact, there are hundreds of thousands of classic books available free.
And you don't have to get in your car, and drive around looking for a bookstore. You can download in minutes (seconds probably) from anywhere in the world you have an Internet connection.
There is no doubt that the eReader has made a great impression on 21 century living and changed the way reading is viewed. Reading is now electronic. Don't believe me? Take a look at your kids, or grand-kids. They write and read at a furious pace. Far outstripping us and our parents for writing to friends and staying up-to-date.
Oh, did I mention it's all electronic. Texting, reading, twittering, facebooking and the Net. More words and communication flowing than ever in history.
So, if you want an unending supply of reading materials and almost no dead weight to carry around? Get an eReader! If you want a book now, not as a Christmas present, get an eReader! Need to clear some space on the book shelf ? Get an eReader! Want to free your hands while reading? Get an eReader! Want to get motivated to read me? Get an eRader!
I could go on an on, but you get the picture.
The eReader is light weight – You can hold it with one hand. An eReader is comfortable to read from in any position, including at the beach, in the gym or by the fireplace.
The eReader is easily managed and maintained. Most eReader screens are so paper-like you will not feel the different from a paper book. (If it isn't using an electronic paper display system, be sure you want it. The read may be more difficult).
Haven't got one yet, then check out the e-readers on the next page:
