About Me

Chuck Camroux, the Eclectic Blogger, at www.eclecticblogger.com Taken on top of 6,288-foot Mount Washington located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Just thought you'd like to know.

My name is Chuck Camroux. I am retired (yeah) from a loonnnggg career in broadcasting. Disc-jockey, program, promotion and sales manager all the way to general manager, president, ceo and broadcast property owner. It was fun, especially creating whole new formats for major markets and gathering lots of listeners.

Last in-station job was to turn around a 100,000 watt FM station in Toronto Canada. It was/is a non-profit, but dieing as an underperforming classical station in a sea of classical stations owned by the government or big money. I had the wonderful opportunity to create an exclusive format in one of North America's largest cities, Toronto (Greater Toronto is 5.5+ million). At the beginning of 2001, I created JAZZ.FM (CJRT-FM 91.1), an all jazz radio radio that has continued to thrive and grow in a very multi-cultural city.

That was fun.

Since retiring, I've continued my quest to be involved in and learn about new things. I continue to RV around North America. I have got into basketball and really enjoy it, especially high school and university ball. I have got back into photography, first bringing out my incredible Minolta cameras, and then going full digital with Sony (who bought out Minolta).

But one of my passions, since 1969 when I first used sequential automation in broadcasting, is computers and of course the Internet. I won't bore you with this interest, except to say that I have been active (very) on the Internet since 1994. This includes writing/creating websites and Wordpress blogsites (like this one) and monetizing, or to put it another way, earning money online.

If you wish to comment on any of the posts, be sure and do so. The more the merrier. Also, my contact info is on the contact page, even snail mail is possible.

For the record, I live in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. Probably one of the best known addresses in the world. There's a lot more about Niagara in this website for those that have never visited, or came and loved the view. Speaking of view, you can see pictures that I and others have taken of Niagara Falls and area on my site, Gateway Niagara.

I hope you will join me as I continue my eclectic venture. I would especially like to hear from others who have the same affliction, an affiliction I call eclecticism.
